FAXTR ("Service") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
- •Account Information: Email address, display name, profile photo (via Google Sign-In)
- •Usage Data: Fact-check search history, voting records, credit usage
- •Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies
- •Newsletter: Email address when subscribing

4. Data Storage & Security
All data is securely stored on Google Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard security measures. Personal information is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within a reasonable period after account deletion.

- •Anthropic & PayPal: Scanner AI analysis and payments (see section 10)

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To request account deletion, please contact us at contact@faxtr.com.
7. Cookies
FAXTR uses cookies and local storage to provide core functionality and improve user experience. This includes language preferences, login state, and credit information stored in your browser's local storage.
8. Information Processed When You Use the Scanner
- •Content you submit: links to social posts or live streams, photos or screen recordings you attach, and the video, frames, speech transcripts, on-screen text and captions we fetch to analyze them
- •Results: retouching/filter estimates, ad-wording review, public sources compared with factual claims, translations
- •Payment records: the payment provider's (PayPal) order ID, amount and time; the depositor name for bank transfers. FAXTR never receives card numbers.
- •Free-preview abuse prevention: a hashed (not directly readable) form of your IP address
- •Report downloads: we process your account email (shown in the report watermark) and a download log (account ID, email, result ID, file type, time, terms version) to handle unauthorised distribution and rights complaints.
9. People Shown in Analyzed Content
Content you submit may include the faces, voices and names of other people such as creators or sellers. FAXTR processes this only for public posts and only to help consumers check whether ads and information are accurate.
- •Faces are used only to estimate retouching. We do not identify people from faces or match whether images show the same person, and we do not create or store face templates.
- •If you appear in a result, you can ask to access, correct or delete it, or to stop processing: contact@faxtr.com
- •EEA and UK: member data is processed to perform our contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); data about people shown in content you submit is processed on the basis of legitimate interests — consumer protection and countering misleading advertising and undisclosed retouching (Art. 6(1)(f)). Because contacting each person individually is not practically possible, we inform them through this policy (Art. 14(5)(b)). They may object to the processing at any time (Art. 21) or ask for erasure: contact@faxtr.com
- •EU representative (Art. 27 GDPR): appointment is in progress. Until then, please send EU/EEA enquiries to contact@faxtr.com.
10. AI Analysis & International Processing
Part of the analysis is processed by the providers below. Data is sent over the network when an analysis runs, and each provider uses it only for the processing it performs for us.
- •Anthropic, PBC (USA) — AI analysis (reading frames, extracting claims and comparing them with web sources, translation). Data sent: frames, transcripts, on-screen text and captions. Data sent through the API is not used to train Anthropic's models and is deleted under Anthropic's retention policy.
- •Google LLC (USA) — sign-in, storage of accounts, credits and scan history (Firebase), fact-check search
- •PayPal (USA) — card and PayPal payments
- •If you do not want international processing, you can stop using the Scanner or ask us to delete your account; the Scanner cannot be provided without it.
- •Scanner results are AI-generated estimates. If you disagree with a result, tell us at contact@faxtr.com and a person will review it.
11. Retention & Deletion
- •Source video, frames and attachments: deleted from the analysis server (Seoul, Korea) after 30 days (except the copies below)
- •Result records: until you delete your account or ask us to delete them (so you can reopen your history)
- •Legal evidence packages: 3 years from creation (to preserve originals for disputes)
- •Payment records: 5 years, as required by Korean e-commerce law
- •Quality-improvement copies: to improve accuracy, we keep copies of source files and results on separate storage in Korea, off the analysis server (up to 3 years). They are linked to your account only by a pseudonymous number, and are not shared or used to train other companies' AI. You can ask us to exclude or delete them at contact@faxtr.com.
- •Deleted files are erased so they cannot be recovered.
- •Report download log: 3 years (to check unauthorised distribution and rights complaints)
- •Analysis report files (summary/detailed PDF): deleted from the analysis server after 30 days together with the source files; opening them later rebuilds them from the remaining results, possibly without scene images.
